‘Listen,’ invites Spirit.

‘Stand tall,’ says the tree.

‘Spread your wings,’ chirps the bird.

‘Be still,’ whispers the mountain.

‘Let go,’ sings the river.

‘Open your heart,’ smiles the flower.

‘Awaken,’ breathes the sky.

‘Shine your light,’ urges the sun.

‘Love your darkness,’ pleads the moon.

‘Dream your dream,’ twinkles the stars.

‘Trust me,’ winks the Universe.

“Once there is a certain degree of Presence, of still and alert attention in human beings’ perceptions, they can sense the divine life essence, the one indwelling consciousness or spirit in every creature, every life-form, recognize it as one with their own essence and so love it as themselves.”

~ Eckhart Tolle

Recently, I watched an episode of the BBC documentary series called How To Grow A Planet, about the first flower on Earth.

While learning about the birth of flowers, I thought of Eckhart Tolle, who relates the spiritual evolution of human consciousness to the moment plants evolved into flowers in his book,  A New Earth.

I couldn’t help but see a connection between the way flowers evolved and grew all over the planet and how love and kindness create a ripple effect all over the world.

The First Flower

The first flower was tiny yet magnificent. Alone but utterly transformational to life on Earth, it was the very first of its kind.

According to the documentary, along came a curious beetle looking to soothe its hunger. The pollen of the very first flower, this enlightened being, stuck to the curious beetle and spread to other plants during the beetles many travels.

And with that, many more plants were enlightened, many more beetles became messengers of this new beauty, and the world was transformed forever.

Consider this for a moment…

The very first flower, is love.

You are the curious little beetle, looking for something to soothe your soul.

And by spreading love everywhere you go, you change the world.

Whether you realise it or not.

Just as the beetle didn’t know it was leaving a trail of pollen that would lead to a world full of colour, magic, healing and the most beautiful aromas, you can leave a trail of miracles and love everywhere you go. The beetle sprinkled magic on plants, you can change lives with love.

And the more people who spread love, the more love there will be to spread.

Who knows? Maybe one day, the truth of love won’t be so rare anymore, maybe it will be as vivid as a poppie, as resilient as a lotus, and as easy to come by as a daisy.

Sunflowers and rose petals,
